Actor Lee Sun-kyun Faces Drug Allegations, Appears for Police Questioning

In a recent turn of events, renowned actor Lee Sun-kyun appeared at the Incheon Nonhyeon Police Precinct for questioning regarding allegations of illegal drug use. 

Lee, under the spotlight for suspicions of consuming marijuana and psychotropic drugs, made his presence known at the Incheon Police Agency this Saturday. He took a moment before entering the precinct to acknowledge the gathered media, bowing five times to the flashing cameras.

Addressing the media, Lee, donning a formal black and white suit, expressed his regrets, stating, “I sincerely apologize for my involvement in this regrettable matter and for the disappointment caused to many.” He added a heartfelt acknowledgement to his supporters, saying, “I deeply apologize to everyone who has trusted and stood by me.”

The actor also assured of his full cooperation with the ongoing police investigation and expressed his anguish over the distress this situation has caused his family.

The immediate reason behind Lee's summoning was to administer a reagent test to ascertain his drug use, its frequency, and type. Following the allegations, the Ministry of Justice, on Friday, imposed a travel ban on Lee.

Adding depth to the investigation, Lee is reportedly accused of consuming illicit drugs at the residence of an entertainment establishment manager in Seoul since the onset of the year. Furthermore, evidence suggests Lee's association with a private, membership-only entertainment venue in Gangnam District, a hotspot for the elite and celebrities.

Lee is not the sole figure under scrutiny. The Incheon Police Agency has a list of 10, including singer G-Dragon, all under investigation for alleged drug use.
